In Cozumel, I wrote, rested, and reflected.
The next morning, I woke up with a question that stayed with me:
Purpose or popularity?

Subtitle: What patterns have been quietly showing up in your life lately?
✒️Journaling with Kim: 321 → 123 Reflection📝
Today is debarkation day from my mom’s birthday cruise 🛳 and my first cruise after retiring from the Air Force ✈️.
What I thought would be rest, transitioned into reflection.
Before I left, I noticed and shared a pattern around the Spring Equinox:
3️⃣ - 2️⃣ - 1️⃣
March (3) — communication
The 20th (2) — relationships
2026 (1) — new beginnings
It felt like a quiet countdown. A clearing. A recalibration.
Then on the cruise, I saw 1-2-3 reflected back to me in a way that caught my attention, a breakfast sign shifted into a focus wheel, a wheel with 12 compartments.
A focus wheel reminds me of structure, order, and wholeness. Like the 12 disciples, 12 knights, the 12 hours on a clock, and the 12 houses in astrology where each part has a role, each connected, forming something complete.
1️⃣ - 2️⃣ - 3️⃣ isn’t just a sequence. It’s a pattern:
1 — Purpose
2 — Connection
3 — Expression
321 → 123 is a mirror.
Reflection:
When I’m clear on my purpose and connected to the right people, my expression flows naturally.
A shift. From confusion to clarity. From alignment to movement.
Here’s what I took away:
✨ 1. Alignment can feel lonely. You can feel out of place and still be exactly where you need to be.
✨ 2. Not everything that excites you is your assignment. I had to ask myself: Is this purpose, passion, or popularity?
✨ 3. Purpose has to lead. Passion will start it. Popularity may surround it but purpose must lead it.
✨ 4. Movement doesn’t have to be forced. I’m not chasing what’s next. I’m responding to what’s already clear.
✨ 5. I am responsible for what I’m building now. No more automatic military structure. It’s time to pay myself.
This cruise reminded me:
I’m not starting over. I’m stepping forward with everything I’ve already learned.
And maybe this is the real rhythm of it all:
3-2-1 — what I’ve been clearing, questioning, and realigning
1-2-3 — how I now move, build, and express
One step. Then the next.
Purpose.
Connection.
Expression.
No rush. Just alignment in motion. ✨
If you’re in a season of transition, reflect:
📝What are you being asked to release so you can move forward with clarity?
And as you move:
📝Are you moving from purpose or reacting to pressure?
